Junior Achievement

We have a longstanding partnership with Junior Achievement (JA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial literacy skills to youth across the U.S. Through our support, JA has launched insurance learning lab “storefronts” in Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, and Minnesota to teach students about insurance basics and help them develop financial literacy to prepare for future success.

We also provided more than $175,000 in financial assistance, as well as 1,558 employee volunteer hours, to several JA organizations across the U.S. and Canada over the past year.

Hartford Promise

We are a founding partner of Hartford Promise, a scholarship and integrated college success program for Hartford public school graduates.

In 2025, we deepened our investment by committing $1 million over four years to the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund, a collaboration between Hartford Promise and the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, which will provide each eligible Hartford Promise Scholar with up to $100,000 to support their educational journeys.

BestPrep

We have been a partner of BestPrep and its eMentor program since 2007, helping to build meaningful partnerships with schools, companies and other nonprofit partner organizations to prepare Minnesota youth for success.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, nearly 145 employees volunteered more than 700 hours with BestPrep, serving as company coordinators, mentors and mock interviewers.

Connecticut Invention Convention

We continue to be a key sponsor of innovation awards at the Connecticut Invention Convention State Finals and serve as judges for student inventions. This year, employees also helped assemble more than $5,000 worth of school supplies to help educators across the state.

Here are the two Travelers-sponsored awardees:

Fourth and Fifth Graders

Kyleigh and Mackenzie won the Travelers Safe Auto Award for their “Seat Belt Fun” invention, a Velcro-secured pillow for seat belts, designed with loops and carabiners to hold toys and other small items. This invention will prevent kids’ toys from falling and should reduce distractions for parents while they are behind the wheel.

June

Eighth Grader

June won the Travelers Safe Home Award for her “Safe Swap Smoke Detector,” which features an improved mounting system and a tool that allows for easy and safe device removal and battery replacement from the ground.

Recycled Rides Program
In September, Travelers donated a vehicle to Connecticut Invention Convention in partnership with the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program. The donated Toyota RAV4 will allow staff to visit partner schools for site visits without using their personal vehicles.

Developing Thriving Neighborhoods

In 2025, we provided $6.1 million to organizations dedicated to helping our communities thrive.

Travelers Fortifies Communities

Through the Travelers Fortifies Communities program, we continue to partner with Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, SBP, and Smart Home America to build homes to the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety’s FORTIFIED™ standards.

SBP

We continue to support SBP, a nationally recognized leader in comprehensive disaster resilience and recovery, to rebuild homes in disaster-impacted communities to FORTIFIED standards. In the past year, our funding helped SBP build 94 roofs to FORTIFIED standards. In addition, we also supported the construction of SBP’s first FORTIFIED, ENERGY STAR® multifamily rental homes in Houston and New Orleans in 2024, and tenants took up residence in 2025.

Smart Home America

Since 2018, we’ve partnered with Smart Home America, an organization that works to educate leaders, residents and the construction industry about smarter products and techniques that help to build sustainable communities.

Most recently, our funding allowed the organization to provide policy education in 13 states, and support 19 nonprofit developers in building homes to FORTIFIED standards.

Rebuilding Together

We recently launched a pilot program with Rebuilding Together, a leading nonprofit in safe and healthy housing.

Through its Disaster Readiness and Recovery program, the organization offers disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and long-term recovery support.

With our funding, Rebuilding Together helped put four FORTIFIED roofs on homes in the Tampa Bay region recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

California Wildfire Response

In response to the wildfires in California, we announced a commitment of $1 million to assist with relief efforts. Funds supported All Hands and Hearts, California Community Foundation, International Medical Corps and Team Rubicon.

Employees across California also assembled 2,700 hygiene kits, filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash and other personal sanitary items purchased from The Happy Hope Foundation. Once packed, the kits were shipped to the Union Rescue Mission and distributed to shelters housing wildfire victims.

Partnering with American Forests

Employees from Spokane, Washington, partnered with American Forests and The Lands Council to help maintain trees along the city’s Appleway Trail, a popular urban greenway. Employees hauled water, spread mulch, picked up trash and weeded garden beds. All their work ensured that the 700 newly planted trees along the trail would be able to thrive.

In Glendale, Arizona, 50 employees, partners and agents rolled up their sleeves and planted a variety of trees suited to the environment at O’Neil Park. Located in the Phoenix metro area, the park is a hub for community activities.

Rebuilding Community

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Barnardsville, North Carolina, is a close-knit community of roughly 600 people—the kind of place where neighbors know each other by name. When Hurricane Helene tore through in September 2024, it left behind a trail of destruction: Homes were destroyed, roads and bridges were swept away, access to food was limited and cherished community gathering places were left in ruin.

In October 2025, we undertook an initiative to help Barnardsville heal. Nearly 60 employees from our Charlotte and Knoxville offices joined business leaders to distribute food to families in need, restore community spaces, and break ground on rebuilding a home for a local firefighter who had been a pillar of strength for his neighbors—tirelessly helping others recover while searching for a permanent home for his own family.

That project was completed in spring 2026—one more step forward for a community that has faced so much, and a reminder of what’s possible when people show up for one another.

We partnered with Greater Hartford Arts Council to provide approximately $530,000 in grants to support 17 Hartford-based organizations. The grants support the organizations’ operating and programming budgets.

Music on the Plaza Series

We also continued our “Music on the Plaza” series in summer 2025, as part of the organization’s mission to help people strengthen their community through the arts, while supporting artists in the Hartford area. Our employees were able to enjoy a variety of performances during their lunch hour.
